Graduation Matchbox

Card Therapy Stamp Camp Card Shares

This past Saturday was a blast at my Card Therapy Stamp Camp. We started off the camp with chicken enchilada dip and syrup hotdogs ( hot dogs wrapped in bacon placed in a crock pot and covered with brown sugar). While the girls ate I gave an overview of the 5 cards we were making that day. The first item we made was this cute ladybug Petal Card holder. I just love the Petal Card die cut because you can do so many things with it. My photo displays the holder with a gift card inside (perfect for those June graduates), but I also had fun size candies available to place inside. The ladybug punch art was an item I found on Angie Juda's blog. She consists of 2 - 1 3/8 circles, one red and one black. Cut the red one in half and sponge with black on the edges. The head is a 1' circle punch and the spots are punches from a small hole punch. The antennae were made from some twine colored black with the Stampin' Write markers.





I just can't get enough of the Sweet Scoops set which is available in the new Summer Mini catalog. This is the second card we have made with it, but I just adore it! Instead of a traditional cone I used the sugar cone and made mine a double dipper! The brown background was embossed with our new Square Lattice embossing folder. Doesn't it give the texture of a waffle cone?





This card is a CASE of a card I found on the blog Pine is here. The stamp set, card stock, designer paper and ribbons are different, but the concept is the same. I ordered the Ribbon Originals 116230 Masterpiece specifically to make this card. I love how Stampin' Up offers these ribbons together for sale. The saying "Live, Laugh & Love" is from the stamp set On Your Birthday 111664. We simply inked the stamp with our black Stampin' Write marker, leaving off the happy birthday. Using your markers to ink your stamps allows you to use your creativity with color and what words you would like to use.





Getting ready for Father's Day, we made this card with the Totally Tool stamp set. This idea was CASED from splitcoast stampers where several people have made cards using the tools placed on paper that was paper pierced to look like peg board. Though this card was time consuming, I don't know a dad out there that wouldn't appreciate a handmade card from his son or daughter for Father's Day.





Last, but not least, we made a card for those animal lovers out there. Using the stamp sets C is for Cat and D is for Dog we made a simple birthday card. This card is a direct CASE from the catalog page 61. I did make the card a full 5 1/2 by 4 1/4. The buttons are sewn on the card using the paper piercing tool and some white embroidery thread.

Teacher Thank You Cards

A high school friend of mine asked if I could make her some thank you cards for her sons to give to their preschool teachers. I had the perfect card I have been wanting to CASE for years - a pencil card which was designed by Angie Z. circa 2008. I really had a hard time coming up with any other cards, because I just think Angie's pencil card is tooooo cute! The picture below also includes another card, which is supposed to resemble a chalk board. Hopefully Christine will like one of these. What do you think?

Less than a week...

Until my next Stamp Camp. I know we just had one, but due to work and vacations my May Stamp Camp needed to be held on Saturday May 8th. Don't fret though there is still time to RSVP with me and attend a stress free day of Card Therapy!

We will be making 4 cards and 1 3-D item and the cost is only $10! What could be more fun?

As I said this made me smile when Pam gave it to me because I admire her blog! Pam is always doing something creative on www.sweetpeabunny.blogspot.com I was introduced to Pam by my friend Penny who is her sister. They are so sweet and caring. No wonder I like them both so much!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Saturday was a fun day in more than one way. We had our "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" Stamp Camp and my daughter went to her first prom. Here is a quick photo. I think she looked beautiful, but I may be biased. Below are a couple of projects that would be a perfect gift for Mother's Day. The first is a flower pot card, CASED from Splitcoaststampers and a matchbox filled with Hershey Nuggets to coordinate with the card.




As you can see, the flower pot card is a pocket card with a pullout. If you place the flowers just right it is hard to tell there is a pullout. The flowers were made from the birds and blooms die cut set run through the Big Shot. Each layer was set upon the other then pierced to put a brad in the center. The matchbox was also made with a Big Shot die. Stampin' Up has a great step by step tutorial on how to assemble. There is a bit of a learning curve, but the end product is worth it! The Hershey Nuggets are wrapped in designer paper to give it a finished look.



As I was browsing my favorie blogs, I found a card technique on Kimberly Van Diepen's blog that I had forgotten about. Crayon resist! It is such a fun and easy technique I just had to include it. I used an old Stampin' Up butterfly stamp inked in stazon black ink stamped on glossy cardstock. Once you have the image stamped, grab a white crayon and mark the image anywhere you want to highlight it. Take a sponge and sponge ink over the entire image and voila - you have a beautiful card! We used Melon Mambo ink and cardstock along with a little basic black to make this card pop.




We needed to throw in a card that would be suitable for the men in our lives, so we made this card. It uses the same colors and stamp sets as the birthday card in my post from March 31st, but a scaled down version. The Cheers to You stamp set is a fun one to use for celebrations of any kind. Some of the girls altered this card and used the champagne glasses to make an Anniversary card. Very cute!



Last but not least, we made this card using the "Sweet Scoops" stamp set that will be available on May 1st from the new Summer Mini catalog! Aren't the ice cream cones just the cutest? The set comes with swirl or scoop ice cream stamps, traditional or sugar cones, sprinkles, a cherry stamp for the top and a texture stamp to use with the ice cream stamps and the Kiss technique. This card was CASED from Lynn Put's blog "The Queen's Scene".

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Stamp Camp

Good morning! I just posted the details of my next stamp camp on my Stampin' Up website, but I also wanted to share it here. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Stamp Camp will be held April 24th from 2-5 pm. We will be making 4 wonderful cards, which will include one Mother's Day card. We will also be making a matchbox gift filled with Hershey's nuggets wrapped in designer paper. The matchbox is made from a die cut using the Big Shot. How fun! As always if you are interested in coming and live in the Katy area, please contact me. A RSVP is required to attend this event so I can prepare the materials needed in advance. Please RSVP by April 19th.
